Know Before You Go

Policy: What you need to KNOW before you GO.
What To Bring
Here is what we recommend you bring for the duration of your stay
Sunscreen
Sunglasses
Camera
Camping Gear (tent, tarp, sleeping bags, etc.)
Small luggage lock for your tent (please don’t bring any valuables if you must, keep them locked in your vehicle out of view)
Plastic bags for trash
Extra toilet paper (just in case)
Blanket for seating
A hat for shade
Lantern/Flashlight with extra batteries
Earplug
Rain gear
Clothing with a hood
Extra pair of shoes/sneakers
Mud Boots (in case it rains)
Bug Spray
Portable Radio
Pen and paper for names, addresses, memories, and setlists!
Extra set of keys to keep with you at all times (Avoid keeping keys in your car!)
Vehicle Key Code (this will cut down on the time it takes for the locksmith to duplicate your key if you lose it)
What Not to Bring
No Weapons of any kind
No Fireworks
No Illegal Substances
No Vending will be allowed

No bicycles or scooters or personal motorized vehicles will be permitted into the festival grounds (This includes, but is not limited to: golf carts, ATV's motor scooters, and powered skateboards). NOTE: You will, however, be able to park your bicycle or scooter at any festival entrance via bicycle racks. Please note that the festival is not responsible for your bike/scooter and that you will not be able to move your bike/scooter unless you are leaving the festival grounds

NO GLASS CONTAINERS OF ANY KIND! (This includes, but is not limited to: glass bottles, glass food jars, and anything made of glass). All glass containers will be confiscated upon entry to the festival and no exceptions will be made

No Professional Photography Equipment (small hand held cameras without additional lenses are fine)

NO PETS! Pets will be picked up and placed with the local humane society. Please use the local kennels if you are traveling with your pet. If a pet is found in the car you will be turned away - regardless how long you have waited in line or if you have ticket or not. Local kennel locations are listed on pages 14-15. Service animals, trained to assist an individual with a disability, are allowed.

NO FIRES! There will be burn pits for your use around the camp site. Having personal fire pits damage the land and pose a greater fire risk.

What Will Be Provided
Medical Assistance: there will be a medical station on site staffed by certified Emergency Medical Technicians.
Portable toilets with toilet paper (although we suggest that you bring at least one roll of TP, just in case. Also, you may prefer not to go into a portable toilet in the dark so we suggest bringing a flashlight with fresh batteries)
Vendors will be selling a variety of reasonable priced foods, beverages, and snacks

Being Here

1.Re-Entry Policy
If you wish to leave the grounds in your vehicle and then return, you will have to leave through special security gates.  At this gate, we will register your vehicle when you leave, and you will get a pass to re-enter.  Upon returning you will only be able to reenter with your vehicle through the gate you left, and will be subject to a thorough vehicle search as if you are entering the site for the first time.
Please note that this policy only applies to vehicles and not to patrons themselves.  Patrons will be allowed to leave and re-enter the event grounds on foot at their leisure. Having this policy will allow the internal traffic flow to move more smoothly, enhance audience safety, and allowing maintenance trucks working on the port-o-lets, drinking stations, and other items to service these areas more effectively.

2.Campground Opening / Closing We Will up date this information closer to the festival.

3.Camping Areas Camping will be provided as part of the entrance fare. These areas will not allow cars or vehicles of any kind. Any illegal vendors in the camping sites will be removed. All cars will be parked in the designated parking lot. Patrons will have to walk their equipment to there site. Parking is not far from the camping site, however we suggest that you bring a backpack or small luggage cart to carry your gear. We will have sanctioned vendors in this area for procuring supplies. The space allotted for Camping Only areas is limited, and will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.

4.Words of Wisdom With your cooperation we can leave a positive impression with the town of Arkwright, NY, and in doing so, preserve Music Appreciation Day. Please respect the rules of the venue and local community so that we may be welcomed back in the future. Please respect the pack in pack out rule. (Whatever you bring in, please take with you when you leave). The use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited at Music Appreciation Day. All laws pertaining to drug use should be respected. We encourage you to participate in the festival in a lawful and healthy manner. The sale of nitrous oxide is strictly prohibited.
Consider these facts:  Nitrous Oxide cuts off the flow of oxygen to the brain; numerous emergencies have occurred due to its ingestion, ranging from concussions (falling down after passing out) to, in extreme cases, death; and some confiscated "nitrous" tanks actually contain other toxic gases such as argon or automotive nitrous (which contains petroleum). If you purchase nitrous oxide you are likely to be supporting people who care nothing about, and contribute nothing to, the Music Appreciation Day. We work hard to insure the safety and quality of all official food and beverage vendors.  For health and quality reasons, we urge you to refrain from buying from unlicensed vendors. We appreciate your support of the official Music Appreciation Day vendors as they have made a commitment to the festival to provide quality and safe food options for you.

The sale of alcohol is strictly prohibited.

The service roads must remain open at all times. Please walk on the wide shoulders provided, not on the roadways! This is the only way that we can provide emergency medical and fire protection as well as refill water tanks, service the toilets and pick up the trash.
